更新时间:2020-12-07 15:35:55 浏览次数:

The lab research team is mainly formed by research and teaching faculties from the environment science discipline of HIT, Shenzhen. The lab receives supports from the “State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resource and Environment” and “National (Northern) Engineering Research Center for the Development and Utilization of Urban Water Resources” that are operated in HIT headquarter campus. By fully leveraging such supports, the Lab can create complementary advantages and well coordinate the national and local resources. The Lab provides the facilities and equipment for the research activities in drinking water and sewage treatment, environment bio-agent and vehicle exhausts treatment with a major research focus on the following fields.

1. Advanced municipal sewage treatment

To achieve low energy consumption, low carbon dioxide emissions and low sludge production rate urban sewage treatment processes, the Lab focuses on the researches about the fundamental theory for biological  nitrogen and phosphorus removal as well as new advanced sewage treatment techniques application and sustainable urban sewage treatment technologies.

2. Drinking water safety

This research focus is specialized in chemical and biological safety of drinking water, in particular the removal of toxic and hazardous pollutant trace and pathogenic microorganisms. Fundamental research on reducing the trace of organics and elimination of pathogenic microorganisms and the development of technologies of catalytic ozonation, advanced treatment and membrane filtration, multi-barrier disinfection, and DBP inhibition.

3. Non-conventional water resources exploration and comprehensive water conservation in urban areas

Researches include advanced waste-water treatment, technologies for waste-water discharge minimizing and resource recovery; reducing pollutants emission through physio-chemical methods; studying and formulating the guidelines and standards for waste-water resource recovery in different industries.

4. Restoration of environment and ecology

Researches include the strategies and technologies for urban river restoration, management and remediation technologies for brown sites and contaminated sediments.

This research field focuses on the rehabilitation and restoration models and technologies of the water ecosystem in urban rivers, and the management and restoration of contaminated sites and sediments.
